Freedom from Gray!
An Intelligent RAW COLOR Processing Workflow

After teaching Color Theory for nearly 10 years,
can tell you that many photographers are afraid of color and it shows in their work.

Color should not be feared, it should be embraced!

You can make more impactful color photographs that evoke mood and emotion within your viewer.

• What IP² Profiles & Presets will do for you •

“I am a preset skeptic–until I started using Blake’s IP2 presets, I never used presets. But, wow, after experimenting with the power of these presets I am a convert. And, now I can make my own Lut-based profiles and turn them into presets, thanks to the supplemental educational videos.”

- Phillip

“The first word that came to mind about the course and profiles was sublime. To get the most out of this, watch the training and practice. You will be very pleased with the results. You will also feel more confident in your processing. Another outstanding product Blake!”

- Brian

“I have purchased many “presets” over the years; most, sadly left me disappointed. I have already used this set more in the last two weeks, than I have many sets that I’ve had for years. It is great, and the accompanying educational material makes it very easy to use effectively.”

- Bruce

The Harsh TRUTH About COLOR Photos

Have you ever seen a photograph that was so impactful it left a lasting impression on you?  A photo that was so colorful and bold that it inspired you to create something similar.

But, when you try to emulate it, you are left disenchanted.  The photo you saw was so vibrant, colorful, and meaningful.  But yours is dull, grey and lifeless?

Don’t be ashamed.
Trust me when I say I have been there too and have plenty of failures to match my success.

Look, even though we work in color photography, color processing is not as easy as one would think.  Our expectation is that color should just come easy and natural since we see it everywhere.  But the reality is that all too often our images are dull and grey with the emotional personality of a rock.

It’s frustrating, disheartening, and soul crushing when a very important photo doesn’t have the feeling in it that we want to convey to our viewer.

The truth is, most of us have never taken the time to study color and color theory and just assumed it that good color is either dependent upon the camera, the quality of light captured, or that it just ‘happens’.

But, I hate to break it to ya… it doesn’t “just happen” you have to make it happen and YOU CAN and its not nearly as difficult as you’d think. You just need a process or a system to make it easier!

A proven system for impactful Color Photos!

The moment I realized that I could be in control of the colors in my image regardless of the camera or light quality, everything changed for me.

You would think that even with my painting background I would know better right?

I never thought that my color theory studies from my paintings would help with my photography until I started to put them into practice.

When it comes to color theory, there are many guides to help you. Think of them like the Rule of Thirds in composition.  These guides are a way to help you make better images, but they don’t give you the keys to the castle if you know what I mean.

That’s why you need more than guides to work with color, you need a system.  Systemes help you work smarter, more efficiently, and more intelligently.

I have developed a system for RAW COLOR Processing, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Intimidated by Color Theory?
No worries!  Chroma has you covered!

There are over 90 assets in the Chroma package, but there are 3 that stand out to specifically help you with Color Theory.

Chroma Color Map

This Profile was designed to give you a map of the colors in your image.  It breaks down the colors and over-saturates them to help you identify the colors available in your photo.  This will help you make informed color decisions.

Color Theory Crash Course

Never had a color theory lesson?  This crash course video is going to help you immensely!  I have taught color theory for several years, and this has to be my favorite way of looking at color yet!

Color Tools in PS

We will go beyond the Color Wheel in this video lesson and show you how to practically apply the guides of color theory to the Color Tools in Photoshop.  It’s a lot easier than you think, and you’ll have a grip on it in no time!

Four Simple Steps:
Chroma Color Processing System

Better Color in 75 Seconds! See it to believe it.

in Your Workflow!

The IP² Chroma Profiles and Presets can either be used at the beginning to the end of your workflow with ease!

Using them at the beginning of the workflow you can take full advantage of all the RAW data in and make beautiful color photos that are ready for further editing in Ps or quick refinements for print.

Or if you prefer to do the bulk of your color work in Photoshop, you can continue with your normal workflow and finish your images with ACR as a filter and take full advantage of IP² Chroma at the end of your workflow.

The choice is yours, but either way, Chroma is ready for your workflow!

Witness the Possibilities for your RAW Color

All of the images below were created using the Intelligent Chroma Profiles & Presets.

The Mood Your Landscapes Deserve!

The most challenging thing I had to learn in Landscape photography was controlling color.  It always seemed my colors were not as vibrant as I saw them.  But if I pushed the saturation too hard the photo suffered from artifacts and color abnormalities.

IP² Chroma was built for color mastery at the RAW level with several presets and profiles that ensure you “get it right” as soon as you start working.

Skin Tones with LIFE

Skin Tones present us with several problems in our color workflow.  They are either too flat, too washed or blown out, or inaccurate in hue.

Chroma comes equipped with several presets and a LUT profile to get those skin tones right!  No more washed-out pale tones. Show the viewer life in those skin tones with a touch of accurate color.

Imagination achieved!

Let your imagination run wild with IP² Chroma.  Sure, it was designed as a color theory engine for RAW processing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun right?

This image was processed using the unique Enchanted Forest profile and presets.  Chroma turned an average forest scene into something out of a storybook in minutes!

No Genre Left Behind!

Every photo of every genre, including wildlife or bird photography, has the potential to fall flat, or be moody and full of emotion.

You can stick with your current process, or turn those lifeless wildlife photos into emotive works of art with the Chroma Profiles and Presets!

No matter the genre you find yourself photographing, from Wildlife to Street photography or Portrait to Landscape, the Intelligent Chroma profiles and presets are your go-to for making an impact in your RAW processing!

What do you know about Color Theory and RAW Color Processing, Blake?

Well, I have been around the block with color. My interest in art started as a young man of 5! I would watch Bob Ross on PBS in the wee hours of the morning before everyone woke up. I was fascinated by his paintings but little did I know or could articulate at the time. I was blown away by his use and control of color.

You can fast forward the tape of my life, stop on several occasions, and find my interest in painting and color scattered throughout. The milestones that come to mind:

7 years old: I was introduced to comic books and started tracing them and coloring my drawings by hand.

12 years old: I received my first set of Oil Paints and painted on every canvas that came with them. Heck, I even found cardboard boxes and small wood panels when there were no more canvases around.

15 years old:  I started playing tabletop war games with my friends and painted little miniatures.

19 years old: I pursued painting and printmaking in college. Although I received my degree in printmaking, I painted for several years following my formal education.

26 years old: I began to take an interest in photography and used my knowledge of color theory and painting to help me process my photos.

28 years old: I built a blog / YouTube Channel and started teaching Color Theory to photographers.

I’m at the ripe age of 40 now, I could go on, but you get the point! I love color and have my whole life. However, I do not consider myself a master of color. I am a lifelong learner of color and color theory.

What if I already know Color Theory and have taken your courses before?

Don’t worry, you are still in the right place!  As I said, I am a lifelong learner and every piece of knowledge I gain toward color theory I apply.  Consider this more knowledge and a ton of helpful workflow tools!

Do I need to change my RAW Workflow to use these presets?

No.  These profiles and presets can be adapted to your current workflow if you already have a good thing going.  However, you may find is that they help speed up your RAW editing process if you adapt to the way these profiles and presets work together.

Blake, you've always told us to Color Grade at the end of our workflow, right? Why RAW Color Profiles & Presets?

You are correct. I do advocate for Color Grading in Photoshop.  But, that’s what makes these profiles and presets so AWESOME!  You can use them in two ways:

1.  At the Raw level in your usual RAW workflow as you develop your photo.

2.  As a Filter in Photoshop at the end of your workflow and use them as a finishing effect.

I use them in both places, and regardless of where I use them, I get a GREAT result!

Can I install these presets on multiple computers?

Yes!  You may install these presets on as many computers or laptops that you own.

Are these for Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom?

Yes, these presets were made for both Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic, and Lightroom CC.  Once you install them in Lightroom they will appear in Adobe Camera Raw (or vice versa)

So, whether you use ACR or Lightroom, it doesn’t necessarily matter.  They will work in your favorite ©Adobe Raw Processor.

*hese presets were designed for the latest CC versions of ACR and Lightroom.
I do not support versions of Photoshop and Lightroom before CC

Do these presets erase the settings of my image?

Yes and No.

Since Raw data can only have one instance of a given slider at a time, these presets and profiles will modify the work of the image you use them on.  If you open a RAW file you have already done a lot of work to and you want to save it, I recommend using a snapshot to save your progress before you start using these Profiles and Presets.  The beauty of a snapshot is that after you make other modification you can quickly look at them side by side..

Can I edit the effect of the preset?

Let’s say you put a Calibration Boost on your photo from the Calibration Category, and you like it but you think it’s too strong.   You have two options:

  1.  Use the slider at the top of the preset panel after you make your selection and adjust it for more or less of an effect.
  2.  Manually go into the Calibration settings and make minor adjustments to your liking.

Can I edit the effect of the profiles?

Unfortunately, no.

These profiles were developed from LUT’s and therefore these profiles cannot be modified.  Profiles, by their nature are not like Presets, there are no sliders really, just one big modification file that rests on the top of all your work. Think of them like a baked cookie vs cookie dough.  A Preset is like cookie dough in that you can modify the batter, but a profile is already baked and ready to eat.

However, I will teach you how to make YOUR OWN BW Profiles so you can experiment with different monochrome looks that you may already enjoy.

Can I use these profiles and presets on JPEGs?

You certainly may.  You may also use them in Adobe Camera Raw as a Filter within Photoshop.

When using them this way, some presets may appear greyed out, but that only means that the preset may only partially work as some of the features that are in them are specific to RAW files.  The preset will still work even though parts of it may be missing.

This is not a fault of the preset at the time of recording, this is how Photoshop handles JPEG files with presets made for Raw Files.

Meet Blake Rudis

Hello, I’m Blake Rudis, and I’m what you’d call a Photoshop fanatic. All my life, I’ve been trying to capture and edit the PERFECT photos, and for the last decade I’ve been teaching others how to do the same.

In 2010 I launched a blog. While initially a way of showcasing my work, before long, thousands of people were visiting, asking me how I created the shots and captures displayed. It quickly turned into an education platform. Since then, I’ve helped tens of thousands of photographers learn advanced Photoshop skills…

I founded the f.64 Academy – a fully comprehensive “online school” for those wanting to learn how to use Photoshop to create the best-looking photos of their lives.

Today, I’m incredibly excited to invite you to enjoy my latest RAW workflow tools… and in a very short time, you’ll be up-to-speed and more crushing your RAW color processing.
